We offer a range of straw types that deliver in different ways. All chopped and three times dust extracted, we have a UNIBED to suit you.

Miscanthus

Our recently launched ‘Miscanthus’ is proving to be really popular, especially for those taking their sustainability efforts seriously. A carbon neutral crop, this straw does not need much from the farmer to grow and once harvested, creates the perfect bedding option for your horse.

We commonly refer to this straw type as a hybrid of the previous two. Delivers on absorbency whilst going that bit further in the stable, ticking plenty of boxes of for horse owners whilst reducing your environmental impact too.

Oilseed Rape Straw

A highly absorbent straw type, our UNIBED ‘Oilseed Rape Straw’ is chopped to the perfect length to ensure maximum absorbency after undergoing our thorough three stage dust extraction process.

With it’s likeliness to shavings, this is a great first try product for those coming from a wood based product over to a straw based. ‘UNIBED Oilseed Rape Straw’ keeps a stable looking clean and fresh, whilst assuring users it is getting to work absorbing as much as it can.

Wheat Straw – Lavender

The perfect product for those who love the look of a traditonal straw bed. This straw type creates high levels of support, great cushioning and the 100% lavender essential oil creates the perfect environment for aiding rest and recovery.

With many natural health benefits like anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, this is the straw type for horses owners who really like to spoil their horses.

How to Use UNIBED

We are often asked ‘how do you use UNIBED’ which sometimes can be a difficult question to answer. Every horse is different, every user has their own bed preferences but below is a baseline in which you can use UNIBED.

We recommend using 4-5 approx 20kgs bales, to set up your initial bed (of whichever UNIBED product you prefer) which should offer a medium-deep litter in a standard 12×12 stable.

Most users will then find they are able to use just 1 x bale a week to keep on top of their bed. Most customers find they can skip their stable out daily and remove the wet once a week.

Our products are also great when used together. Using either our ‘Oilseed Rape Straw’ or ‘Miscanthus’ as your initial base and the ‘Wheat Straw – Lavender’ as your top up, is a great way to benefit from the different properties each bedding type offers.

Equally, all products can be used solely on their own in whichever way best suits the user and their horse.
